Local Disaster Recovery Opportunities: Many disaster recovery nonprofit organizations are still working in Louisiana to help homeowners affected by the 2016 floods.  Additionally, Louisiana based organizations are assembling work teams to go into southwest Louisiana and east Texas to help homeowners affected recently by Harvey.  To find more information on disaster recovery organizations, visit the National VOAD website, or contact Volunteer Louisiana.

Disaster Recovery in Texas:  If you are interested in helping with disaster recovery in Texas, you can also register with Volunteer Houston and/or with Volunteer Texas for more information on volunteer opportunities.

Future Disaster Volunteer Needs:  If you are interested in responding to future disasters and assisting with immediate needs after a disaster, consider becoming a Red Cross volunteer.  Red Cross volunteer trainings are offered regularly throughout Louisiana.
